During the blessed month of Ramadan, Darul Aytam hosted its annual community Iftar, bringing together donors, sponsors, students, and community members for an evening of fellowship, gratitude, and reflection. Over 300 guests attended the event, which was held on the campus grounds under the open sky.
The evening began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by one of our senior students, followed by a brief talk on the virtues of generosity and caring for orphans in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be like these two in Paradise," indicating his index and middle fingers.
Students had the opportunity to interact with their sponsors, sharing stories of their progress and dreams for the future. Many donors expressed how moving it was to see firsthand the impact of their contributions on the lives of these children.
"Meeting the children I sponsor was the most rewarding experience," said one donor. "Seeing their bright smiles and hearing about their achievements in school made me realize how meaningful even a small contribution can be."
The Iftar meal was prepared by the campus kitchen team with help from student volunteers, featuring traditional dishes and fresh produce from the campus garden. The event concluded with Maghrib prayer led by the campus imam, followed by a beautiful nasheed performance by the students' choir.
Darul Aytam extends its heartfelt gratitude to all donors and community members who continue to support our mission of nurturing and educating orphaned children.
